Customs & Immigration

Entry Procedure

Quick and simple entry by sea – Main ports: English Harbour, Jolly Harbour, North Sound Marina, Deepwater Harbour, Heritage Quay.

Yachts must clear in Antigua before visiting Barbuda.

Cruising Permit

  • Issued upon clearance, valid for one month.
  • Renewal required for stays longer than one month.

  • Online pre-arrival notification for faster clearance using eSeaclear or Seaclear

Arrival Procedures

  • Captain must report to Customs and Immigration immediately.
  • Passengers and crew must remain on board until clearance.
  • After-hours arrivals: Captain stays on board until port opens.

Fees

  • National Parks fees apply in English and Falmouth Harbour areas.

Documentation

  • Bring ship’s papers, passports, and relevant documents
  • Passengers arriving by air without outbound tickets need a letter from the Captain.
  • Crew leaving must be signed off by Immigration with an outbound ticket.
  • Transfers between yachts require both Captains to present ship’s papers.
  • All goods and services for genuine yachts in transit will be free of all taxes and duties including fuel and provisioning to be used by charter guests.
  • Support containers are considered a temporary import and will be free of all duties and taxes subject to the contents being re-exported and any spares consumed being shown to have been used in the maintenance of the yacht. In instances where major items cannot be accounted for, the applicable duties and taxes will become due and payable. Once imported, crews will have free access to the containers.

Medical Facilities

A safety boat with paramedic on board, call sign “ABSAR”, maintains a listening watch on VHF Channel 16 during all racing. When calling on the radio make certain you use the word EMERGENCY on your call. Shoreside, ABSAR maintain an emergency line and base at the Antigua Superyacht Marina. A new clinic is also in operation at Cobbs Cross.

Water & Fuel

Water and fuel are available in English Harbour at Antigua Slipway; in Falmouth Harbour at the Port Authority Dock, Antigua Superyacht Marina, Falmouth Harbour Marina and Catamaran Marina; and at the Jolly Harbour Marina.
